Local Regeneration Fund (LRF)

From the start of the Objective 1 programme, Ceredigion County Council has been aware of the problem facing project developers in sourcing match funding that can be used to lever in European Objective 1 money. To this end, it has been made available modest sums of capital money for project applicants to access through the Council's "Request to Council" (RTC) system. This system is now to be expanded and used for assigning the National Assembly for Wales' "Local Regeneration Fund" (LRF) money that has been allocated to the Authority.

As with the Council's money, the LRF is predominantly capital money, suitable for match funding Objective 1 projects that sit in capital measures. The table below shows approximate amounts of funds available by financial year; interested parties should check with the Council's Ewro Team (Tel.: 01545 572063) for information on sums remaining unallocated at any particular time.

MAKING AN APPLICATION
The essence of the RTC system is to provide a way for the Authority to provide a corporate response to project applicants, (be they from within the Council itself or from external candidates), seeking the support of the Authority towards an Objective 1 application. Requests for support towards a project might be in several forms:

* A letter of support
* Officer time
* Capital money
* A combination of any of the above

Potential applicants should in the first instance contact the Council's Ewro Team to discuss the project idea and its suitability for Objective 1 before submitting applications either for Objective 1 or LRF. If, after this discussion, the applicant is happy with the project's suitability then they should proceed through the Objective 1 application process.
